Day 1: Algiers – First Discoveries in the Capital

Upon your arrival in Algiers, you will be welcomed by our team at the airport and transferred to your hotel. After a short rest, we begin our city tour of Algiers.
Our first stop is the famous Hamma Botanical Garden (Jardin d’Essai), a lush oasis with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. Next, we visit the Fine Arts Museum, one of the largest art museums in Africa.
After lunch, we explore the historic Villa Abd-el-Tif, a building rich in artistic heritage. Then, we take the funicular to the iconic Maqqam Echahid (Martyrs’ Memorial), which overlooks the city. Here, we visit the Independence Museum for about an hour to conclude our day.
Day 2: UNESCO Heritage Casbah and City Center Tour
After breakfast, we embark on a journey into the heart and history of Algiers. Enjoy a walking tour through the Casbah district, a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its authentic examples of Islamic architecture. Wander through its labyrinthine streets and discover architectural and cultural treasures such as the Mustapha Pasha Palace, the Sidi Abderrahmane Mausoleum, and the historic Madrasa.
After lunch, we continue to the city center of Algiers, where you can experience a blend of modern and historic buildings. During the tour, we will visit Emir Abdelkader Square, the iconic Grande Poste (Main Post Office), and Didouche Mourad Boulevard, one of the liveliest streets in the city. Our final stop of the day is the magnificent Notre-Dame d’Afrique Basilica, offering stunning architecture and panoramic views over the Bay of Algiers. Here, we conclude our day with breathtaking scenery.
Day 3: Flight from Algiers to Timimoun and First Steps into the Sahara
In the early morning, we depart from Algiers and take a pleasant approximately two-hour flight to the enchanting Saharan town of Timimoun. Upon arrival, our local team will welcome you and escort you to the traditional guesthouse where you will be staying. After a short rest, enjoy your lunch.
After lunch, we set out to explore the Sebkha, an ancient salt lake at the edge of Timimoun. In this striking red-earth landscape, we reach the first dunes of the Grand Western Erg and find ourselves immersed in nature under the shade of palm trees.
At the end of the day, while the sun slowly sets over the desert, savor traditional mint tea and soak in the tranquility and silence of the Sahara.

Day 4: Timimoun – Ksars, Poets, and the Red Desert

We begin the day with a morning full of exploration. Our first stop is the Ighzer Ksar, home to an impressive 80-meter-long cave. This historic settlement, built with sandstone, reveals much about the region’s past. As we wander through its narrow streets, shaded passageways, and red-hued walls, it feels like stepping back in time.
Next, we head to the Feraoun Valley, a lush oasis sustained by traditional irrigation systems known as "foggaras." Walking among the gardens, we once again appreciate the vital importance of water in the desert.
Later, we visit Ouled Saïd village, where a short walk through palm groves nourished by underground waters offers tranquility and a close connection to nature.
Our final stop is the authentic village of Aghlad, harmoniously blending with the natural desert tones. Surrounded by ksars and ancient fortresses, this area beautifully reflects the architectural heritage of the region.
After enjoying lunch in a shaded spot, we climb nearby dunes to watch the sunset. As the sun dips low, we savor the breathtaking views and bring the day to a peaceful close.
Day 5: Timimoun – A Day Immersed in Nature
In the early morning, we visit Timimoun’s vibrant local market. Known for its lively atmosphere, the market offers a great opportunity to experience the region’s cultural fabric up close, as well as to observe local handicrafts and daily life.
After breakfast, we embark on our desert journey in 4x4 vehicles. Today’s route takes us to the Petit Tassili area, famous for its red dunes and striking rock formations. Along the way, we stop for photo breaks to capture the unique landscapes.
At the end of the day, we return to our accommodation to rest and enjoy dinner, concluding a fulfilling day immersed in nature.
Day 6: Return from Timimoun to Algiers and Visit to the Great Mosque

In the morning, we say goodbye to Timimoun and take a midday flight back to Algiers (11:25 – 13:45). Upon arrival, we take a short walk in the city center before heading to the striking Great Mosque of Algiers.
Opened for worship in 2019, this impressive mosque is not only one of the largest in Africa but also in the world. Its 265-meter minaret holds a world record, and the mosque’s simple yet stunning interior design beautifully blends traditional and modern elements. During our visit, we will admire the architectural details and observe how this modern masterpiece reflects Algiers’ cultural identity.
Day 7: Algiers – Return Home
After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport. Before boarding your flight, take a moment to reflect on the unforgettable days you spent in this unique region.
It’s time to say goodbye to Algiers... but the memories, flavors, colors, and sounds you carry with you will stay in your heart for a long time.
